Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of compensation and job promotion on employee job satisfaction at PT Gama Prima Karya. The research data were obtained through questionnaires and direct field observations. The data were analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression. The results show that compensation does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction, as indicated by the regression equation Y=16.165−0.226X1​, with a correlation value of -0.229, indicating a weak relationship between the two variables. The hypothesis test shows that tcount​<ttable​ (−2.408 < 1.984). Therefore, H₀ is accepted and H₁ is rejected, meaning that compensation does not have a significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Job promotion has a significant effect on job satisfaction, as indicated by the regression equation Y=6.587+0.365X2​, with a correlation value of 0.335, indicating a weak relationship between the two variables. The hypothesis test shows that tcount>ttable (2.895 > 1.987). Therefore, H₀ is rejected and H₂ is accepted, meaning that job promotion has a significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Compensation and job promotion simultaneously have a significant effect on job satisfaction, as shown by the regression equation Y=10.067−0.177X1+0.307X2​. The hypothesis test indicates that Fcount​>Ftable (9.156 > 3.09). Therefore, H₀ is rejected and H₃ is accepted, meaning that compensation and job promotion jointly have a significant effect on employee job satisfaction at PT Gama Prima Karya.
